Family Fun

Yesterday I wanted to go to the mall so after swimming at our neighborhood pool, Elliott suggested we all go to the mall together (nothing else to do, for once!) I thought that was a swell idea, but since it was so close to dinner time, I suggested we get dinner out too. Of course, by the time we actually left it was past 5pm, so we decided to go to dinner first. Elliott found this charming old house that had been turned into a restaurant called "3 Sisters Cafe". It is in a part of town that is the artsy "venice beachy" type area. It was very delicious, and reminded us of Rutabagorz (in Fullerton/Orange). Plus, the kids meals were only $3... can't beat that!
While we were waiting for our meal, I decided this was quite fun, and going to the crowded mall would be not so fun, so after dinner we walked around with the kids. Emma pointed to all the tattooed people we saw and (pointing) asked why they had drawn on themselves (and there are quite a few!), and then we stumbled across a shaved ice stand and had a little after dinner snack.
Anyway, it was a fun evening, and Jooj, when you come out here, I think you will love this area... lots of art galleries and vintage shops, and the thing that suprised me, lots of hair salons... go figure!

Sooooo... is there a quilt shop in this artsy area? :)
Does the town hold a Farmers' Market?

I don't think there is a quilt shop there... There is probably a farmers market, but I haven't been to it as there are two closer to our house...
