Catching Leslie's Bug

Last Christmas my dad sent me the Personal Ancestral File (PAF) for our family. Inspired by Leslie, I recently downloaded the software to open from the LDS church's FAMILYSEARCH website.
Last night I was looking through the records, and discovered that one of my ancestors was Artemus Millet, who was in charge of building the Nauvoo temple. Also, I discovered that I have relatives came to America about the time of the Pilgrims.
I am excited to research into more of these lines and find out more about our past family history. Thanks for the inspiration Leslie!

it's amazing what you can find! maybe you can find out how our ancestors Miles, Joseph, Daniel, and "Delina Riggs" who married Elbert Pinney (on grammy's side) is related to you. Ready, GO!

Leslie-

I just saw a Pinney family website where I learned that Delina Riggs "was a teacher and a woman of rare intellectual ability." The site also says that she died at the home of her son Dr. Elbert Pinney near Greenville Texas in 1867. If you guys are ever near Dallas you should go to Greenville and check it out! A prominent doctor like that probably left an impression on the town...I wonder if his house is still there somewhere.

It was the Kirtland Temple that Artemus Millett supervised building. He had been referred to Joseph Smith by Brigham Young, who baptized him in Canada.
