Don't look too closely...

...but isn't this so cute??
I made it tonight as a test block for the doll quilt I am swapping. This isn't the fabric I will be using for the quilt I send to another quilter. I thought I would make a few blocks of my own first, to test the pattern and figure out the tricks to making a block that will be 2.5 inches square when all is said and done.

After making this block, I think I might go a little bigger for the block size I use in the quilt I swap... maybe 4 inches. But I will definitely finish a quilt with these cute little blocks. I am inspired to make enough small quilts to do this or this!

okay i am seriously impressed! do you give lessons? i like to sew, i sew alot. but i have no idea what i'm doing... i totally make up my own rules. i'm sure there is a much easier way to do most of what i do, but i don't know it. this little block is amazing. i can do squares, rectangles... things with straight lines! wow! i love the links. i can just imagine a little baby girl, with a wall full of quilts. now i just gotta get me that little girl.

Yes, Leslie, I think a doll quilt wall would be perfect in the southern plantation home you and Neal will soon have!
