Christmas around the World

Feminist Mormon Housewives has set up a donation page for Heifer International. If you want to know more about the charity, read through their website. There are also some great comments on the blog post at FMH.

I will also plug my favorite charity again... Smile Train. 100% of your donation goes to help with the surgeries... the founders set up a grant to pay all administrative costs when they formed the charity.

Heifer International is a great organization. Next week, at work, we will have an all day potluck event, affectionately known as PIG day. Everyone also contributes something and we send it to them, usually funding a few animals.

Thanks for blogging this, Ginger. Heifer and the Smile Train are both terrific charities. Each of them are non-profit and not only help individuals, but teach recipients to continue the help.
Smile Train teaches native doctors the methodology of repairing cleft palates/lip. Heifer Int. teaches the new owners how to care for their animals, then asks them to 'share the wealth' by donating some of the offspring to other villagers.
