Long time no see...

First of all, I would like to apologize for not posting in such a long time. I know you all are weeping with sorrow every day that goes on and I have no new post! It is just that my new calling is taking up SO much of my time. I was recently called as the media coordinator for my ward. And let me tell you, the duties are astounding... I have to keep up the bulletin board outside the bishop's office. (hehehe don't be jealous!)

Lately, Elliott and I have been talking about our future quite a lot. He has a couple of deals going that could get us back to California in the not too distant future. I was all for it during the freezing cold winter, but now that spring has arrived and brought it's warmer weather, I admit that Indiana is a great place to live. I love our schools, I love the people, I love the affordability.

And the biggest problem with moving, is that Elliott and I actually have friends we really enjoy hanging out with. The wife told us last night that every time they become good friends with someone, the family moves. We told her we won't move until they do!

In LA, we had so many great friends, and it has been a long time since we both really enjoyed hanging out with a couple that we have so much in common with.

Well, it isn't a decision we have to think about for a while. In the meantime, we are looking forward to our trip out west in 6 weeks!

A few of my favorite things!

1 - My family. I have a great family, both immediate and extended. I live an amazingly full life because of my interactions with them every day!


2- Chicago... such a cool city. I have been there 3 times and can't wait to get back. The architecture of the city is amazing. There are many fun museums and other attractions. It is a great place to visit!

3 - JCREW - I know, it is a little pricey, but I can't live without their:

3 - The Smile Train a wonderful charity that helps children born with cleft pallet get free surgery. 100% of your donation goes to the surgery... all their overhead is paid by a grant from the founding board.

4 - Lands End Swimwear - made to fit women whose bodies don't look like they used to! If it wasn't for Lands End, I wouldn't buy swimwear!

5 - DVR's - In the rare instances I actually watch TV these days, I don't have to watch commercials!

6 - Curves - yes, I joined the gym. I think I am the youngest person there by about 15 years. But it is a great beginner workout and I am having fun!

7 - Blogs - the best waste of time since... (what did we do before we had them???)

I just got these jars from Cost Plus. They are available with green, blue, or red lids. I think they will make a great addition to my sewing room, perfect for organizing ribbons, pins and needles, and assorted other small odds and ends. Plus, I love how they have a little label. So cute! It is all part of my "get organized" push! I really want to paint my sewing room a shade of white... something with just a hint of pink or blue in it.

More fun on Spring Break

Today we took a trip to the Indianapolis Zoo. It was a lot of fun, and because the weather was perfect, the animals were all putting on a good show for us!
