Praying for Parker

Love for Parker

Click on the picture to donate to this family who have been struggling with the immense medical bills they face because of their son's illnesses.

No that you need an incentive, but the blog it links to is having a giveaway via some generous merchants.

Then go hug your kids!

Finally doing it...

After years of pestering Katie for info and advice about her girls singing club, I have finally decided I am ready to start my own! I am trying to come up with a logo, and I had Elliott draw me the following ideas based on some clip-art I had seen on-line. Which do you like best?

A:

B:

C:

D:

E:

F: (this is really about the head with pigtails, or curly hair, and it could be put on one of the other bodies...)

Thanks for drawing these Babe! And also a special thanks to my awesome sister-in-law Katie, who is a major inspiration and help!

More beardie photos

She molted and now her colors are really coming out. We're all growing attached. To a lizard. Next on the list: a tarantula for Andrew.

So maddening!

This post at Jezebel was very interesting. It made me abhor Oprah even more than I already do, because I completely agree with the bloggers take on Oprah losing pounds for Vogue.

You can see the un-photoshopped picture of Faith Hill here.

I guess I shouldn't be too harsh, because Judy photoshopped the picture of me she put up the other day, and I certainly didn't mind. But I do think this type of photoshopping has a major impact on why so many women are unhappy these days. Check out the comments for some good reactions.

Adorable hats

I just stumbled across this cute shop on etsy.

I had to buy some hats for the two baby girls I know are coming soon... Steph's will have to be a surprise, but here is a pic of the one I bought for my friend Alanna (she lives here where it will be colder, so this one is perfect for winter!) Isn't it adorable??

Ethan's Birthday Present

On Monday, the kids and I took a 4 hour (roundtrip) road trip to Fort Wayne to pick up Ethan's new dragon, Lizzy. She is a sweet little beardie, still occasionally skittish, but she is fun to watch and hold.

(Ethan is reading her a bedtime story)

Start the brainwashing early

As many of you know, Elliott is involved in Mitt Romney's campaign (if you don't know what he is campaigning for, you might as well never vote!)

Anyway, our boys, being the intellectual studs they are, have watched a couple of the debates with us. Thus, it should have come as no surprise to me that this conversation was going on in the back of the Yukon today:

Andrew (to Ethan): I hope Mitt Romney wins. Who do you want to win?

Ethan: I don't know. I don't care who wins.

Andrew: I want Mitt Romney to win. How come you don't care who wins?

Ethan: I just don't!

Andrew: But you don't want someone to win who will make you be their servant. If that democrat man or woman wins they will make you do what they say! So don't you want Mitt Romney to win?

Ethan: I don't care as long as it isn't that little guy who said, "if you don't want a president who believes in God, here I am."

Andrew: Yeah, the President has to believe in God.

Ethan: Yeah, but I don't want to vote for that little guy. He said, if you want a president who believes in God, I'm your man.

The conversation then devolved into a discussion about God and the creation, and I was really trying to remember the political discussion. My brain wasn't big enough to hold more, but you get the idea, right?? Anyway, I was shocked that Ethan had listened and then actually remembered what Governor Huckabee (the little guy) said in the debate!

Elliott was just looking over my shoulder and told me that tonight Andrew asked if he could contribute to Mitt Romney's campaign. Elliott told him you have to be eighteen, and that you have to have money. Andrew then told Elliott that he DOES have money.

Look out world. This is a future pundit if there ever was one!

Some questions before bed...

Elliott: Okay, c'mon guys, let's go get in bed. (leads them along...)

Andrew: Why was there a potato famine?

Emma: Why are there fireworks?

Ethan: Why was Paris Hilton put in jail?

(what inspired these questions? I have no idea. I don't even read any celebrity news, so I am not sure how the boys picked up on that!)
