My dear friend Melinda had her first baby in December... I finally finished little Rosemary's baby quilt this morning.

I absolutely adore these fabrics... All from
Moda's Swell line. I ordered more fabric to make
matching dresses for my girls, and would love to make another large size quilt for myself!

It was a simple quilt to make... two charm packs (5" squares), backed with soft chenille and tied. I haven't ever made a quilt from unwashed fabrics before, but the charms can't be washed before being sewn together, so I am hoping for the best!
The little charm packs are addictive... I bought two more from
Moda's Wee Play line of fabric... and I need opinions... are these fabrics to flowery for a boy quilt? (I think the picture will enlarge if you click on it.)

I took my sewing machine to the doctor today... some tension issues that hopefully will be fixed when the mechanic opens the machine and de-lints it! It has had some serious use lately.
Have a great weekend!

love the baby quilt. and moda fabrics. :) i'm not sure on the flower fabric for a boy. as a baby quilt i think it would probably be fine. the colors look boyish to me.
love it too!
Melinda will *love* this quilt. :) The colors are great, and chenille for the backing will be so soft.
As for the boy quilt top... Yes, the daisies are too girlish. Needs some plaid in there, perhaps.
Ok. What is up with the Riggs (?)Sisters? Judy posts a new book she's read every other day or so and you post one or two new quilts a month. I'm doing something wrong in my life. Until I figure out your family secret, I'm just going to have to leave the two of you on my "I'm going to be like you someday" list.
LOVE the fabric in those quilts!Great Job!
I've tagged you.
Here’s the idea:

Have fun!

What a SWELL (teehee) quilt! Really, it's too cute! And I know I'm late with my opinion, but I don't think the fabrics are too flowery. The colors are very boy-ish!
What a beautiful quilt :)
i found your blog through bethany's (my oldest sister) and i love your quilts. i love to quilt, but in comparison to what i've seen, i'm a novice. i love looking, though, at what someday could happen. :)
Your so talented Ginger. I love the quilts. The fabrics are amazing!
Happy spring
