The top is done... now it needs to be quilted.

(excuse the coloring, it is a little off... but I am not a camera -or photoshop- wiz!)

The person I am making the quilt for asked for a style that was traditional country. I immediately thought of applique. The quilt design is my own, but the patterns for the fruits and flower came from Nancy Odom's Wildberry Vines pattern, and the butterfly is from my EQ5 program.
I started out hand appliqueing the blocks, but found that my applique was getting worse, not better, and I knew those cherries would be impossible with my skill level... So I did a raw edge applique instead, and machine stitched right next to the edge. It was really fun, actually, and I plan to do more of it.

Very cute Ginger! I love the colors. And too bad you don't live closer to your sister -- I suspect you have a few models she could use! ;-)
your partner's going to LOVE this. The applique is just something that takes patience -
I love the little quilt you've made. Your partner will love it.
