For Rebecca

In my previous post, Rebecca left a comment wondering if I could help her find the perfect fabric for her son's nursery. Since I am sincerely grateful for all my dear readers, I instantly set out to find her dream fabric... she wanted a giraffe print, preferably one that matched her very chic diaper bag.

I found two fabrics that may fit the bill. The first is a minkee fabric. I have never personally worked with minkee, but I know many quilters who have. It is a slippery fabric, but if you use enough pins, it will stay in place while being sewn. It is extremely soft, and would make a great backing fabric for a little crib blanket. It is available from Over The Rainbow Quilt Shop, which I have ordered from many times, and they have great customer service, along with quick shipping!

My favorite giraffe print is this great print from Alexander Henry. It is available from The Fabric Shack, which I have never ordered from, but I hear they have great service. This is a woven cotton fabric, and combined with the size of the giraffes, the fabric would be perfect for a bumper, dust ruffle, curtains, or any other number of larger items you would find in a child's bedroom.
