I really wish I liked to sew.

Apparel sewing, that is... It is nothing like sewing a quilt block.

Why, you ask? Because these dresses would be way easy to whip up... at a fraction of the cost!

Alas, my apparel construction days are long gone, as evidenced by the several dresses I have started for my girls, and never finished. Maybe next year.

2009 is going to be the year of finish it up. If I can ever get back to my sewing machine. Yeah. Doesn't work so well when I want/need a clean house.

A momma only has so much time in the day. Lately mine has been spent building. And baking. And playing. And wiping noses.

AND CLEANING

yet my house still is not clean.

More later, Sophie wants to brush her teeth.

Those dresses are adorable! Too bad Naomi's such a tomboy. And I'm no seamstress.

The fabrics and pattern arrived yesterday! Can't wait to get sewing. Thanks for ME cards as well. I'm also a fan.

Good luck with cleaning. It's the common lot of moms, isn't it? At least the kids are cute to make for the work.

Can't believe the prices of those dresses. They are not complicated and would be easy to sew. If you lived closer we could make some!

I can only offer my encouragement for you to get out your machine and get to work on clothes for those little girls! Do it for me, who loves to sew for girls but only had boys. When my boys were little I used to joke that everyone close to me (family and girlfriends) all had at least one daughter and none of them sewed for their girls. Isn't that the way it always works out???

One reason the dresses are so expensive is the fabric used; do you realize how much good quality batiste costs??? yikes.
Finish the dresses you've started and send me some pix. :)

Thanks lurker/stalker. It's always nice to see someone come out of that closet.

And I agree with you, I like the idea of 2009 being the year of finish it up. Got to get going on it!

I don't like any kind of sewing. Or cleaning. So you are in good company!
