Summer Vacation

I thought Elliott might do a blog post that included pictures, but I guess he's not going to. He has, however, uploaded all our Alaska photos with a link on his blog, so if you want to "cruise" through 400-and something of our uber exciting photos, check out his blog. In the meantime, here are a couple of photos for your viewing pleasure:

Elliott's parents had an awesome suite for their room on the cruise. It was right on the bow of the ship, so we had great viewing possibilities. The scenery in Alaska is awe-inspiring. It was pretty cold and windy the first few days we were on the cruise, which was a bit of a bummer for me, as I left my jacket and fleece at home (doh!). But after that it was actually warmer than normal, and we had beautiful sunny skies for the rest of the trip.

On of my favorite things when we all get together is hanging with my awesome sister-in-laws. They are really fun to hang out with, and we had lots of fun gathering in Bama and Pa's room and just sitting and chatting.

What's a trip to Alaska without a visit to the local quilt shop? Actually, I read about this shop, in a town called Skagway, in a quilt magazine I am subscribed to. I was pretty disappointed with the selection... not my style at all. But that's okay, because I am definitely not in need of any new fabric!

The highlight of the trip for my kids (and maybe all the cousins?) was getting to meet and play with the dogs that run the dog sled races (Iditatrod and I can't remember the name of the other race) up in Alaska. This picture is pretty significant if you know Andrew, he is generally terrified of dogs, but these puppies were pretty cute and irresistible.

Summer is now officially over for us, and we are back to the grind. I hope you all had as enjoyable of a summer as we did!

Ohmygosh! Did you love it??? My sister and I have just started to talk about doing the same thing with our families next year. What cruise line did you use? Did you extend your trip at all? Do you have any sage wisdom and advice???

Oh my goodness! All the Parker men must have similar taste in women. You and your sisters-in-law look so much alike. Your pictures are great! Everything looks so pristine and untouched.
