Do you want to know what I love?

When Ethan is trying to be a tease and keeps stepping in front of the camera while I am trying to take a picture of his sister. Normally this might cause a parent to get upset, but Ethan won't usually smile for us when we bring out the camera... I guess he didn't realize I would be actually able to take a picture of him smiling while he was blocking the way!

I've been sewing up a storm lately. The girls' quilt tops are finished at and the quilter's (thanks Mom!), so I decided to make a dress for Emma. I have a hard time finding warm dresses that are long enough on her (that I like.)

This is McCalls #5966. It is a super easy pattern, although if you have absolutely no experience putting a dress together, you might be a bit confused, as there are some places where it doesn't tell you to press seams flat, and that type of thing, but overall it was very easy.

I think I am going to make a black pettiskirt to go underneath and give it a little bit of poofiness.

I'm super excited to congratulate my brother Lyle on passing the California bar exam! California has one of the toughest exams in the nation, and he passed the first time he took it because he is awesome like that!!

For your mocking enjoyment, here he and I are together (a looooong time ago!):

Here he is playing with Ethan a few years ago. He is an awesome uncle... the kids love playing with him, and he is always willing to give us parents a break!

And just for kicks, here is a family photo from a few years ago. I found it while looking for a photo of Lyle, and had to post.

Having a family full of siblings is really fun. Lots of cousins for my kids to play with, and lots of siblings for me to cream at Settlers and Carcassonne... I can't wait for our vacation. Bring it on!!

If you had a pet unicorn...

...what would you name it?

Horny, perhaps?

(Luckily that name didn't stick... probably due to the fact she could tell something wasn't quite right with it from her parents' laughter. Right now it's a toss-up between "Fuzzy" and "Sparkles".)

Seen on the scene...

The other afternoon, Sophie decided she had to take off her shirt to use the bathroom. I was in the other room as she finished up and got dressed again. I heard a bit of scuffling and moaning, and then I heard her say,

"I guess I just have to do it like this."

This morning, Sophie told me this is how Indiana Jones looks:
