Today I actually took the girls to Joann (the craft/fabric store). This is huge, people! Plus, I've made dinner about 4 times in the last week and a half. Again, HUGE! I'm trying not to do too much, because when I do, I pay for it the next day, but for now, I'm taking it slow and loving having less nausea.
On to better things...
Why was it necessary to take a trip to Joann? I have 3 projects I'm wanting to do at the moment:
1. Make this shirt. Totally cute and comfy. I even have the right amount of what I think will be cute fabric (it's always hard to know what will look good in a huge, maternity amount.) I didn't have elastic though... so off I went.
2. Make a cute hospital gown to deliver in. These seem to be all the rage now. There are several varieties available on etsy.com, in fact. But I don't like how they open for nursing, and I don't want to pay the big bucks when I can make one myself, so I got this pattern, which I think I can alter sufficiently. Of course, in writing this, I realize I forgot to get snap tape. sigh... I guess I'll be back at Joann's tomorrow.
3. Boy crib bedding. Yes, I had some for my boys, but I have since gotten rid of it, and have better sewing skills. I found some perfect fabric, but had to go pick up a pattern, since I didn't want to figure out measurements myself. (Why is it that the Butterick patterns are 99 cents this weekend, but I got no Butterick patterns. sigh...) I'll be slightly altering the pattern I got, including adding cording to the top of the bumper pad, but I just realized I forgot that too. What I really need to do is make a list.
Anyway, I hope you are having a great day. It's a bit warmer (should I be excited about 39 degrees?) and sunny today, and I'm looking forward to getting started on a new project.
PS... we find out the baby's gender in 3 weeks. Yay! Sophie is suggesting a new name: Hello Kitty. :-)

Well, now Sophie must think the baby is Asian.
