One down...

The dust ruffle is done!

Can I just say how much I love my sewing machine?  It makes projects like this so much easier!  See this foot in the picture below?  It's my stitch-in-the-ditch foot.  Normally it is used in quilting to keep a straight line if you want to quilt at the seam lines, but the directions for this dust ruffle have you fold up the bottom of the dust ruffle to the top of the green band, and sew it to the back at the top of the band.  If I was just using a regular presser foot, the stitch would most likely have been not too straight.  But with the stitch in the ditch foot, the fabric stays just where I want it.  If you look closely, you can see where the foot bends the fabric slightly out of the way right where the needle goes down.
The stitching stays right where I want it.  In fact, if I had used green thread, I don't think it would have been visible at all...  and really you can't see it if you are looking at the dust ruffle from even 3 feet away.
Alas, we have no crib as yet, and probably won't get one until much closer to August...  so no modeling as of yet.

I'm going to give my back a rest, and take a little break before starting the bumpers tomorrow.
