Old School

Today Ethan, Henry and I came home from church early because Ethan is suffering from a sinus infection.  Elliott was going to bring the other 3 kids home after church, but he had a few responsibilities that took longer than expected, so one of our good friends gave them a ride home instead.
I popped out the front door to tell him "thank you" while Andrew was climbing out of the car, and our friend, Ed, said, "Your kids really had fun driving in my car."
I wasn't sure exactly what he meant, until all of a sudden Andrew yelled, "That car is AWESOME!  It was made before they had buttons to make the window go down!"
As soon as he got in the house, Andrew repeated this amazing fact to Ethan.  Ethan was a bit puzzled, "You just keep the windows open the whole time you are driving?"
"No," Andrew explained, "there is a bar you have to turn to make the window roll down."

So funny! My kids like to talk about how I was born before cell phones existed. :)

You can remind him of this conversation when he is complaining about driving a beater car in high school and college. :)

That is so funny!! We watched Pete's Dragon tonight and I told them I watched it about 30 years ago. They asked me if I had to wear dresses to school too!
